Meet Miss Laney

Laney Burns
Laney Burns is a proud Kennesaw State University graduate with a B.A. in Dance, concentration in ballet. She began her training at age six under Mrs. Darla Toker and spent five years competing with the Tempo Dance Stars Competition Team, alongside several years of competitive gymnastics. Laney has been teaching at Tempo Dance Center since she was sixteen, instructing in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, tumbling, and Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT), for which she holds a certification. While at KSU, her performances include Nadir and Future Uncovered both at the KSU Dance Theater and the American College Dance Association (ACDA). She expanded her skills in pedagogy, kinesiology, choreography, dance movement therapy, filmmaking, and stage production. Laney was selected to be the cinematographer and editor for a film that is featured at The Waves of Wonder exhibit at Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum in Savanah, Georgia. She recently earned her personal training certification through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) to further support dancers’ physical wellness. Laney is excited to return to Tempo to teach the upper-level ballet and continue sharing her passion for movement and performance.
